SSB Supports Millennials to Welcome the Industrial Era 4.0 in the Pandemic Period
The form of SSB's ongoing commitment in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs) in order to ensure the quality of competence of future generations who are highly competitive.
Serang, 15 October 2021 – PT Sanggar Sarana Baja (PT SSB) is a subsidiary of PT ABM Investama Tbk (IDX: ABMM), which is engaged in engineering and manufacturing, particularly in the extractive industry and has become one of the market leaders. Armed with SSB's expertise and experience in managing projects from Sumatra to Papua using the latest technology, SSB encourages the improvement of the quality of human resources while at the same time fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of the community. SSB presents a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the field of Education entitled “Saya Senang Belajar”.
One of the “Saya Senang Belajar" programs in collaboration with the Serang Job Training Development Center (BBPLK) aims to accelerate the mode of training during the pandemic. The activity was centered for 3 weeks at BBPLK Serang, from September 28 to October 15, 2021. The learning activities carried out in a hybrid manner, in the form of face-to-face classes and online sessions, were attended by 288 participants from all corners of the archipelago spread over 3 training departments, namely: Welding Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
Director of PT SSB Johan Budisusetija explained that BBPLK Serang has an important role in preparing human resources who are ready to compete in the industry. “Through this program, we want to provide insight into the needs of the industry both to the training participants and to BBPLK Serang itself. This synergy can build harmony between the educational curriculum and the needs of the industrial world in various parts of Indonesia," he said.
The implementation of the program is divided into two aspects of learning, namely the theory of technical skills and soft skills. Learning materials on the technical skills aspect include the introduction and theory of welding, the theory of operating cutting tools and hand tools machining, to the theory of applying CNC machines. Meanwhile, soft skill learning includes the introduction of the company's core values, the application of 5S, work safety guidelines, to the practice of using automation technology in the manufacturing industry.
PT SSB's commitment in preparing the best human resources from the community was welcomed by the head of the Serang Job Training Development Center, Aan Subhan. “Synergies with companies like this really support learning goals in facing the 4.0 era. BBPLK Serang ensures that learning materials are always up to date plus equipment facilities that can be used by students for hands-on practice, we are optimistic that the alumni from BBPLK Serang will be ready to work and can support the economic development of their respective regions, "he explained.

For information, this series of "Saya Senang Belajar" CSR Programs has been taking place since March 2021 in 3 cities, namely Balikpapan, East Kalimantan Province and Serang City, Banten Province, and will continue to Samarinda City, East Kalimantan Province in November 2021. To increase the positive impact on its stakeholders, PT SSB also synergizes with affiliated companies, one of which is PT Cipta Krida Bahari (CKB) which is engaged in integrated logistics, in implementing this CSR program in several vocational technical schools in the city of Balikpapan and Samarinda, East Kalimantan.
